Increased flexibility and compressibility

Due to their highly porous shape the Promaxon®-D particles offer flexibility and compressibility to friction materials. The Promaxon®-D particles have a strong and high density shell by which the particles will keep their shape when exposed to e.g. dry mixing shear forces and pressure during hot moulding. This ensures a reliable and effective performance of the Promaxon®-D particles in the final friction materials.

Increased friction level and friction level stability

The mild abrasive nature of the Promaxon®-D in combination with the flexible structure can increase the friction level and at the same time polish the rotor surface without causing excessive rotor wear. By cleaning the rotor surface the Promaxon®-D particles create a stable friction environment at the friction interphase. The results in an increased stability of the friction level over various driving conditions. In specific the recovery of friction materials after a fade section is improved when using Promaxon®-D.

Improved fade performance

The very high melting temperature in combination with the highly porous structure makes the product very effective to improve the fade performance of friction materials. The highly porous structure of the particles will provide porosity and permeability. This makes the product also very suitable for heavy duty applications.
