Specially developed for the gasket industry
Rockseal® fibres are specially developed for the gasket industry. Their tailor made aspect ratio combined with the high temperature resistance fits exactly where other materials start to fail. The biosoluble chemistry ensures a safe environment when using these fibres. With many years of experience in the field Lapinus Fibres bv has finetuned their product to be the number one supplier of mineral fibres to the gasket industry.
Improved chemical strength
Silanised Rockseal fibres can be used to improve the cross links with all the binder in the matrix, creating a closed fibre matrix network. This results in improved mechanical strength for the gasket or paper and gives it high creep resistance. It gives customers the opportunity to partly replace more expensive organic fibres and realize cost savings. Rockseal fibres give the opportunity to realise this unique combination of cost saving and improved temperature resistance.
Different surface treatments
Many different surface treatments are possible with Rockseal, allowing fibres with very strong affinity with water, binder or solvents and hence excellent dispersion in the binder/solvent/aqueous medium. This in turn means a very short mixing time and a highly homogeneous mixture. The affinity of Rockseal with rubber/solvent mixtures also allows fibre contents of up to 95%, yielding high compression resistance and low creep/relaxation. Higher fibre loads also ensure sealing even when the rubber is already deteriorating, prolonging gasket life.
