Our fibres are an important part of the cocktail of fibres used in non-asbestos organic (NAO) commercial vehicle linings, enhancing the final product in numerous ways like increased impact strength, reduced wear and reduced fade.
Ever since the first generation of non-asbestos organic (NAO) commercial vehicle linings, Rockbrake fibres have been an important raw material within this application. Asbestos fibres cannot be replaced by only one other fibre while maintaining the desired properties, but require a fibre cocktail consisting of a combination of organic and inorganic fibres. Rockbrake products are an important part of this fibre cocktail.

Commercial vehicle disc pads
In low-steel disc pad applications, our fibres are often used in combination with steel fibres. Like steel fibres, our fibres have high thermal stability, making them ideal for high performance applications such as disc brake pads. Rockbrake fibres have a high melting temperature resulting in a stable friction coefficient over a wide temperature range.
Our highly cleaned fibers are used to reduce noise and vibration problems.
